Sleep is one of the most important things in our lives. If you’re not getting enough sleep, or if you need a boost before an exam, this article will give you some great options for how to get more sleep naturally.
I have tried several different natural remedies to help me sleep, but none of them worked effectively. Finally my search came to an end when I found the right tea blend.
You may be familiar with some of these plants already since they are used as herbs for depression and mood enhancement. Many of them are also used for relaxation.
Here’s a list of the 16 most popular tea for sleep:
Chamomile tea
Chamomile tea is often used to help induce sleep. It’s also used as a mild sedative and to help ease muscle pain. It’s my favorite drink at night. I would normally mix in a few tablespoons of chamomile tea into a big mug and sip.
Passion flower tea
Passion flower tea is often used for mood elevation and relaxation. You can steep this herb in hot water for a few minutes, or you can add it to a cup of chamomile tea for the same effects when drinking hot tea.
Lemon balm
Lemon balm tisane helps relieve anxiety and depression, promotes relaxation, calms the mind and aids in falling asleep. Lemon balm is one of the most popular herbs for sleep and it’s been used for at least 2,000 years for all kinds of purposes. It’s calming, sedative, and can be mixed into tea or taken by itself. Blessed thistle is an effective sedative and relaxant, which can help get you to sleep more quickly. How does this tea work?
The best way to describe the effects of Sleepy Tea is natural sleep. The effects are subtle and not out-of-this-world like the herbs in Dream Tea. (That herb combination is the best sleep herbal blend.)
I normally drink Sleepy Tea about an hour before bedtime, and it’s effective for calming my mind, relaxing my body so I can fall asleep faster than if I didn’t drink it.
How to choose the best sleepy tea for you?
This is a classic herbal sleep aid, so you’ll see many products that claim to be Sleepy Tea. They may use the name Sleepy Tea, but I don’t recommend any of them. It’s very difficult to find a reputable company that produces quality Sleepy Tea extracts. There are plenty of bad companies in the marketplace that may use Sleepy Tea as their name, but they usually don’t have the best extracts and other ingredients.
Here’s how to choose the perfect bedtime brew for you.
Desired effects: I want to leave that day relaxed and calm, maybe a little calm and relaxed. I just want to drift off to sleep.
To achieve this effect, look for herbs that promote relaxation and sedation (like chamomile, valerian root, lemon balm, hops tea) or mildly sedative herbs (like blessed thistle) – not so strong that they make you drowsy the following day.
Herbal preparations: Look for products certified organic or wildcrafted if possible. Buy products with ingredients derived from organic plants grown on a farm in the United States. You can also choose herbal teas from companies who demand traceability in their supply chains.
Fragrance: Fragrance can be very relaxing, so it’s important to find the right one with a scent that you can tolerate. Some examples of safe fragrances are lavender, lemon balm, chamomile or bergamot.
Sleepy Tea is a great option if you are looking for natural herbal sleeping aid. It’s made up of many calming herbs that help promote relaxation, sedation and sleep. It is perfect for a relaxing evening and can ease trouble falling asleep by reducing stress and soothing the body.
